Server Rules

These are baseline community expectations for playing on Storm SMP. Any current, more specific rules announced by Storm SMP staff or in the official Discord take precedence. If a rule is unclear, ask staff before acting.

Respect other players

  • Treat players and staff respectfully. Harassment, targeted abuse, threats, and discriminatory conduct are not acceptable.
  • Do not spam chat, flood commands, or intentionally disrupt conversations.
  • Respect other players' builds and belongings. Do not grief, steal, or bypass protections.

Fair play

  • Do not use hacked clients, cheats, exploits, automation, or unfair modifications to gain an advantage.
  • Do not abuse bugs or duplication glitches. Report them to staff privately and avoid spreading instructions for exploiting them.
  • Do not impersonate staff or mislead players about official decisions.
  • Do not evade a valid punishment with alternate accounts or other workarounds.

Chat and community safety

  • Keep chat appropriate for a mixed-age gaming community.
  • Do not post personal information, account credentials, malicious links, or suspicious downloads.
  • Do not advertise unrelated servers or services without permission.
  • Follow staff directions related to active incidents and moderation.

Reporting an issue

When reporting a player or suspected exploit, provide relevant evidence such as the approximate time, usernames, and screenshots or clips where available. Do not retaliate, threaten others, or publish private information.

Moderation

Staff may investigate reports and apply moderation based on the circumstances and the current official punishment policy. Do not assume every case has the same outcome. If you believe a decision was mistaken, use the official appeal/support route calmly and provide relevant context.
